So I found this the other day...
and I had no idea what he was going on about. I recognized the name of the song, but he was singing it differently, obviously, in the beginning... and I was like "Who is Method Man?"
Oh little naive me.
Google'd it, and found another video I'd already seen ( : ] See below) and found out that MSI's was a cover of a rap song by said Method Man.
WHOAH holy FUCK he looks like his eyes are white in that thumbnail. 0_0
(note the creative use of sound effects for censorship. >_>)
It's... so much different than the MSI version! It's so chill, quick and monotone, compared to Jimmy's voice. It's an OK listen, but you don't hear the words at all... it's alright, but it ain't the same as
This:
XD
lololol, the person who has this up on youtube... their name is Hamtarucard. :DDD
I saw this video thanks to Rek, it was an AMV she really liked. :3 I don't watch the show, but she explained something of it to me... basically the pink-haired one is evil, but the purple-haired guy loves the cute facade she put up once and is devastated she isn't that way. 0_0
Anyway, this is a SUPERB AMV, one of the best I've seen... It not only synchs perfectly with the beats, but the lyrics as well. It's amazing work...
But about the song...
It... It's a completely different song, with the exact same lyrics... someone, on this page doing a comparison of the two, said that MSI's is much harsher, and it better portrays the violence than the original. Instead of "load it up and kill one" being a monotonous, beat-based thing, it's... "load it up and KILL. ONE." It puts emphasis on things in an interesting way...
I have to say my favorite lines are "Insane crazy drivin' miss daisy" and "When I was a little stereo..." because of the tune, mostly, how they're sung. They're completely random words... but anyway...
I guess that's the difference between the two - MSI's is sung, and not only sung, but SCHIZOPHRENICALLY sung, with many voices and ideas, like it's fragmented somehow...
And it's sung a lot slower, and the beat and background music aren't constant- it has different tempos and moods - it's anxious, it blasts with violence, it has its quiet moments... It's all around well composed as a piece of music, even if it is an odd one.
I dig it.
...That also makes it easier to remember the words, too. XD
After it was running through my head for awhile I went back to the first video, and found I could almost sing along with the audience at the beginning there. Odd...
